Overview

Northeast Two-Way Radio Corp. is seeking a motivated and experienced Two-Way Radio Systems Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will install, program, troubleshoot, and maintain land mobile radio (LMR) systems, dispatch consoles, and supporting communications infrastructure for public safety, municipal, and commercial customers.

This is a hands‑on position requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently both in the shop and in the field.

Responsibilities
  • Install, program, and service two‑way radio systems including mobile, portable, repeater, and dispatch equipment.
  • Troubleshoot RF systems, network‑connected radio systems, and dispatch consoles.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on customer equipment.
  • Program radios using manufacturer software including Motorola, Kenwood, and other platforms.
  • Install and maintain antennas, coaxial systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Conduct system testing, diagnostics, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate service records and inventory usage.
  • Participate in occasional after‑hours emergency service calls and on‑call rotations.
  • Provide professional customer service and technical support to municipal and commercial clients.
Qualifications
  • Experience in two‑way radio communications, electronics.
  • Knowledge of RF principles, LMR systems, and radio programming software.
  • Experience with Motorola, Kenwood, Avtec, Zetron, or similar systems is a plus.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical schematics.
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, switches, routers) preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in vehicles, equipment rooms, and occasionally at heights.
