Randstad is partnering with a Winchester, TN client to hire a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical to spearhead manufacturing engineering initiatives at our Winchester, Tennessee facility. Key focus: process improvement, designing essential tooling and fixturing, optimizing plant layouts and production flow, and managing capital equipment projects. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on problem‑solver who thrives on the production floor.
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or mechanical engineering in a production environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- Experience designing tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing process improvements.
- Experience supporting capital equipment projects and manufacturing line improvements.
- CAD experience (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience with process flow development, root cause analysis, and structured problem solving.
- Understanding of manufacturing equipment, tooling, automation, and production processes.
- Strong hands‑on troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication across all levels of the organization.
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Lead root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.
- Develop and maintain process documentation including process flows, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, jigs, and other manufacturing aids to improve safety, efficiency, and repeatability.
- Identify opportunities for automation and equipment improvements.
- Support equipment troubleshooting and reliability improvements in partnership with maintenance and production teams.
- Develop plant layouts and manufacturing cell designs to optimize workflow, ergonomics, and material movement.
- Support facility improvements, line balancing, and production capacity improvements.
- Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on waste reduction, productivity improvements, and process standardization.
- Implement measurable improvements in throughput, scrap reduction, and equipment efficiency.
- Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and justification for capital equipment.
- Support vendor evaluation, equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
- Manage project timelines and ensure successful startup & integration.
- Working in a smoke‑free environment.
- Wearing steel‑toe shoes.
- Working in a non‑temperature‑controlled environment.
- Manual lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Manufacturing.
- Lean Manufacturing (5 years of experience is preferred).
- Safety Improvements (5 years of experience is preferred).
- Create / Update Work Instructions (5 years of experience is preferred).
- Evaluate processes (5 years of experience is preferred).
