Operations Manager
Construction Services Foreman
Working under the direction of the Director of Construction Services, the Construction Services Foreman supports the day-to-day activities of the Project Managers of the Construction Services department. Manages the day-to-day operations of a construction site. Coordinates with the Project Manager, staying updated, keeping schedule and scheduling subcontractors as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain project specification files, including all documents issued by the contractor, sub-contractor, and designers.
- Manage the project from start to finish with direction from the Project Manager as needed.
- Manages the change order with project managers approval, construction change directive, Architects supplemental instruction and proposal request process.
- Works with the contractor and end users to implement the change.
- Manages the submittal process.
- Manages the substitution process with direction from the design consultant.
- Identify products and processes that require a submittal.
- Perform other project related duties as needed.
- Establishes annual goals for area of responsibility with input from management.
- Perform field/job inspections.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors.
- Responsible to take and manage job site photos.
- Coordinates required project meetings.
- Performs follow‑up on daily progress of projects under construction.
- Ensures that all ICRA and ILSM procedures are followed to VH standards.
- Ensures that the job site is kept clean.
- Responsible for obtaining building permits and ensuring that all trades have their permits in place.
- Ability to build and manage project schedule and keep project on schedule.
- Ability to maintain project budget as to not exceed budget amount.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience:
Must have experience with counseling and or experience with working with diverse populations.
Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable of construction and project management practices and techniques in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to gather construction cost quotes.
- Ability to put together budget submittals and send to project manager.
- Ability to read and follow construction drawings and documents.
- Must be familiar with applicable local/state/and federal codes (NFPA, JCAHO and OSHA) regulations as related to healthcare and healthcare-related facilities.
- Ability to interact with Valley Health customers and staff as well as contractors and subcontractors.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
