The School of Health Professions at Shenandoah University invites applications for a Faculty position in the Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics Program. This is a full‑time, twelve‑month, career‑contract track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, based at the Health Professions Building in Winchester, Virginia.

The graduate program in Nutrition and Dietetics is a 21‑month program that meets Fall, Spring, and Summer of year one and Fall and Spring of year two. Coursework is delivered through a combination of face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online instruction. The program emphasizes competency‑based learning with integrated supervised practice and experiential learning. The program is accredited with ACEND and will launch in the Fall 2026 semester.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Direct supervised experiential learning activities and coordinate supervised practice for students in the graduate program of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Teach two courses in the graduate program in each of the sessions:
    Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
  • Participate in additional on‑campus activities as needed, including faculty meetings, program planning, service commitments, and university events.
Teaching and Curriculum Development
  • Participate in curriculum development and ongoing revision to ensure alignment with ACEND standards, evidence‑based practice, and the future of Dietetics practice.
  • Participate in assessment and data collection as required by ACEND accreditation.
Student Advising and Mentorship
  • Provide academic advising and mentoring to students throughout the didactic and experiential learning activities of the program.
  • Support student professional development and success as needed for diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
Scholarship
  • Engage in ongoing scholarly activity consistent with career‑contract faculty expectations.
  • Mentor and support student research and capstone projects.
  • Contribute to a culture of scholarship within the Division of Nutrition and Dietetics and the School of Health Professions.
Service
  • Participate in service activities at the division, school, university, and professional levels.
  • Engage in professional and community service that supports the mission and visibility of the Division of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Interprofessional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with faculty from other health profession programs to support interprofessional education and collaborative learning experiences.
  • Participate in IPE workshops sponsored by the School of Health Professions.
Recruitment and Retention
  • Participate in recruitment, retention, and student success initiatives.
  • Support program and university efforts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion as part of Nutrition and Dietetics education.
