Job Description
SUMMARY:
Winchester Public Schools seeks an experienced, dynamic educator with outstanding professional and interpersonal skills to lead Virginia Avenue Charlotte DeHart Elementary School. The successful candidate will possess the experience and skills to lead the instructional team, engage the entire school community, and build a strong school culture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a Virginia Postgraduate Professional license (or ability to attain) with an endorsement in educational administration.
- Minimum of three years of successful administrative experience at the school level with experience at the elementary level preferred.
- Dynamic and proven leadership in a high achieving elementary school; ability to work effectively with school personnel and members of the community; superior writing and speaking skills; strong instructional knowledge and demonstrated leadership in the management of instructional programs; mastery of team development to achieve results.
LOCATION:
Winchester Public Schools is comprised of one high school, one middle school, one intermediate school, four elementary schools including a Pre‑K program, and one alternative education program serving over 4,000 students, supported by approximately 725 full‑time employees. Winchester is situated in the picturesque Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, 65 miles northwest of Washington, D.C. Its location, rich history, and diverse economic base make it an attractive community in which to live.
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience. Range is $108,150 - $166,549 based on the 2026‑2027 salary scale. Additional $8,460 for earned Doctorate Degree.
WORKDAY:
Full time/12 months/260 Days
