Behavioral Intervention Specialist
The purpose of the position is to build capacity of school staff to implement a variety positive behavior intervention strategies to support the emotional, social, and behavioral needs of students.
Virginia teaching license preferred; minimum of three years successful teaching experience, special education classroom experience preferred; thorough knowledge of instructional methods, strategies, and practices that support the educational needs of students struggling with behavior challenges; knowledge of special education regulations; qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working with professional colleagues, students, and parents; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
enrolled or plan to enroll in a program that is approved by the BACB and meets the instructional requirements for eligibility to sit for the Behavior Analysis Certification Board exam within 3 years of accepting the position.
Teacher Salary Scale (credit is based on years of full-time experience in a related position).
Full time / 10 months / 210 days
