Position Overview
Shenandoah University’s School of Health Professions is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor in the Division of Counselor Education. This full‑time faculty position will be based in Winchester, VA.
ResponsibilitiesThis 12‑month core faculty role includes:
- Teaching courses in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, and Music Therapy and Professional Counseling programs.
- Advising students throughout their program.
- Developing and assessing programs, including curriculum design and evaluation.
- Participating in division and university service, professional service, research, and leadership/advocacy activities.
- Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision or equivalent grandfathered status.
- License or license eligibility in Virginia (LPC or School Counseling).
- Preferred: experience as a school counselor, approved Clinical Supervisor certification, evidence of successful teaching and supervision experience, and a demonstrated research agenda.

- Pre‑employment background check and satisfactory driving record may be required.
- Only U.S. citizens and authorized workers are eligible. The university does not sponsor visas.
