Position Overview /Duties

Serve as technical leader for subordinate military and contractor personnel engaged in military master planning, MILCON programming, geospatial support activities, and Architect-Engineer Contract Management pre‑award documentation preparation.

  • Serves as technical authority for the full range of the Regional Planning Support Center (RPSC) programs.
  • Leads the project planning team(s) work methods, processes and procedures supporting the development and review of plans, site design concepts, preparation of Military Construction Project Data Form (DD Form 1391), District Plans and Execution Strategies, planning charts, including the ancillary framework plans and products within the portfolio.
  • Review proposed planning approach and procedures to meet established objectives for military, civil and foreign military sales planning studies.
  • Analyzes overall planning study results, including results of engineering, economic and environmental investigations to determine if objectives have been met and are technically sound.
  • Exercises considerable independence to accomplish the Center’s mission.
  • Travel to the US Central Command (CENTCOM) area of responsibility as required.

    This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in competitive service.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or specialized experience requirements described below.
Basic Requirements for General Engineer, Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer or Mechanical Engineer
  • Degree:
    Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first‑year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics;

    (b) strength of materials (stress‑strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
Basic Requirements for An Architect

Degree:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in architecture or in a related field that included 60 semester hours of coursework in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems.

Degree:
Community planning; or related field such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that includes at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance.
