Design Engineer
You will serve as a design engineer, responsible for coordinating or monitoring, planning, and design efforts for Fire Protection and Life Safety systems or facilities being constructed in the SWM area of responsibility.
Review studies, scopes of work, and preliminary, pre-final, and final design plans and specifications prepared in-house and by Architect-Engineers.
Interpret, adapt and apply numerous guidelines, foreign codes, precedents, and engineering principles and practices to determine most feasible design or possible alternative solutions.
Prepare technical specifications, design criteria, and drawings in conjunction with designs generated in-house.
Develop design criteria to be included in scopes of work for use by A-E firm in developing designs.
Conduct shop inspections of major items of fire protection equipment being fabricated in the US or in other countries for inclusion as Government or contractor furnished equipment.
