Mortgage Loan Funder
To provide operational support to Mortgage Closers in order to expedite the funding process. Assist in the closing of mortgage loans, completing the funding process for closing transactions and ensuring loans are reviewed to minimize the risk of post‑settlement errors. Responsible for accurately disbursing funds in accordance with lender closing instructions and signed closing statements. Ensure accuracy of documents and balancing funds, requesting corrections or required documents as needed.
Provide detailed review of closing‑related documentation for compliance prior to approving the release of funds and submitting to Post Closing. Conduct proactive and effective pipeline management in accordance with performance standard expectations.
- Review daily reporting and prioritize loan funding based on the closing date to ensure loans are funded correctly within appropriate time frames.
- Contact Settlement Agent/Closing Attorney to establish relationship for receipt of required funding documents.
- Verify wire instructions with Settlement Agent/Closing Attorney to ensure accuracy of wiring instructions and to mitigate any potential fraudulent wire information from being utilized.
- Facilitate and track loan wire requests to title companies.
- Disburse refinance and purchase files and process outgoing wires for loan payoffs and proceeds for accurate disbursement.
- Work with the Settlement Agent in obtaining funding authorization to disburse.
- Request and follow up on incoming funding documentation based on scheduled closing time frames.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Basic word processing and spreadsheet software skills.
- Ability to adapt to fluctuating workflow.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with automated systems.
- Experience in performing clerical or administrative duties/responsibilities.
- Exposure to working in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
- Effective skill following, interpreting and applying relevant data/instructions to guidelines, procedures, practices and regulations.
Hybrid—3 days per week onsite, no full‑time onsite; must be able to work hybrid shift.
Shift ScheduleMonday‑Friday. Training Shift Time: 08:00am – 04:30pm CST. Shift Time After Training: 09:30am – 06:00pm CST / 10:30am – 07:00pm EST. NO TIME OFF IN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS! Any new hire who misses more than 4 hours of ILT or 8 hours of live loans will be reclassified.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire position based out of Winchester, VA.
PayPay range is $19.88 per hour.
