Job Title:Director of Human Resources
Location (city, state):Winchester, VA - Fully on-site
Assignment Type:Direct Hire
Pay:$85,000 - $90,000 annually
Work Schedule:Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, Standard business hours

Job Description:The Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership for all aspects of the HR function, partnering with executive leadership to build a high-performing, inclusive, and compliant organization. This role balances big-picture people strategy with hands-on execution across talent, culture, and operations
Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and business priorities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and culture
- Lead change management initiatives to support growth and transformation
Talent Management
- Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning
- Design and implement employee development, leadership training, and career progression programs
- Ensure competitive compensation, benefits, and rewards strategies
Employee Relations & Culture
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-engagement workplace culture
- Guide and resolve complex employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organization
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and policies
- Oversee HR policies, procedures, and systems (HRIS, payroll coordination, benefits administration)
- Manage risk related to employee relations, labor law, and workplace practices
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team, setting clear goals and performance expectations
- Manage the HR budget and vendor relationships effectively
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Advanced degree and/or SHRM, PHR, or SPHR certification strongly preferredli>
- Significant progressive experience in HR leadership roles
- Strong working knowledge of multi-state employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience with HRIS platforms, budgeting, and complex HR operations
- Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)
- Excellent judgment, communication skills, and ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly
