The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers.

Responsibilities include the optimization and support of complex communication systems.

• Provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications including troubleshooting of software‑driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure, and performance optimization of RF and Broadband architecture including legacy analog, advanced digital P25 and data infrastructure.
• Maintain, optimize, test, and document complex communications systems.
• Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments.
• Perform maintenance of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshoot to resolve system/application related issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with a focus on trend analysis and documentation of results.
• Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues.
• Continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques.
• Team with engineering, project management, and sales personnel to effectively maintain, optimize and support advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations.

• Strong knowledge of wired communications systems such as LAN and WAN, including cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges.
• Knowledge of RF systems such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.
• Knowledge in standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet switching techniques.
• High computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
• Strong self‑management skills and interpersonal skills to work closely with Motorola’s customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams.
• Self‑motivated and self‑managed to perform required duties at a distance from direct supervision.
• Ability to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.

• Experience with ASTRO P25 systems.
• Unique combinations of both multi‑site RF communications systems and/or computer/networking skills are preferred.
• 5+ years experience in roles such as Electronics Technician, System Technologist, System Manager, or Field Service.
• Experience with LMR, RF systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communication systems or networking equipment.

• High School Diploma/GED or 5+ years of Field Service experience with LMR, IT, Radio, RF Systems, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Networking Equipment, Military experience or Public Safety experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain background clearance as required by U.S. government customers.
• Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
