Machine Operator; 2nd Shift

Operate plant machinery as directed while adhering to safety policies and procedures to produce a superior product.

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance to ensure quality
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Assist other operators to set up machines and complete tasks to meet deadlines
• Maintain housekeeping in the assigned area
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the job may be assigned as needed

• High school diploma/equivalent; or at least 1 month of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
• Mathematical ability to perform basic arithmetic
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions
• Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in work
• Experience with a Besser machine is a plus
• Standing for extended periods; ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Able to work a flexible schedule
