Maintenance Mechanic
Pay Rate: $30.00 - $35.00 / hour |

Winchester, VA | Shift: Full-time, rotating shifts with a compressed work week schedule.

The Maintenance Mechanic plays an essential role in minimizing operational downtime and keeping production high. This position performs skilled mechanical work to install, maintain, modify, and repair industrial press equipment and auxiliary machinery using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Perform mechanical preventative maintenance procedures and repairs on production presses and auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair precision machinery utilizing blueprints, schematics, manufacturer specifications, and manuals.
- Visually inspect and listen to machinery to quickly locate, diagnose, and resolve the root causes of malfunctions.
- Focus on proactive and preventative maintenance measures to minimize reactive downtime.
- Maintain and repair industrial components including bearings, gear clutches, couplings, belted and shafted drives, and gearboxes.
- Perform basic welding, machining, and fabrication of parts and equipment as needed.
- Work efficiently and safely, understanding the urgency of production downtimes.
- Maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with press operators, crew members, management, and external vendors.
- Proven experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing or printing environment.
- Strong understanding of industrial components, including bearings, clutches, gears, pneumatic systems, and belted/shafted drives.
- Basic knowledge of precision test and calibration equipment to perform preventative maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Must provide your own basic set of tools and be able to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform math functions and respond quickly to equipment malfunctions.
- Dependable work ethic with a strong commitment to following safety instructions and protocols.
