Position SummaryThe Technical Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing the day‑to‑day activities of the technical team. The position supports a production shift by coordinating the technical aspects of the process, including scheduling and distribution of work assignments, securing materials and equipment, and ensuring efficient utilization of machinery and labor hours. The supervisor provides leadership and administration to support plant goals and objectives, guiding all associates to achieve plant objectives.
EssentialJob Functions & Responsibilities
- Provide for safety and security of employees and company property by ensuring a safe working environment that exceeds OSHA requirements and that all operations follow corporate policies and government regulations.
- Plan labor assignments and schedules to support the workload, ensuring efficient and cost‑effective use of human and material resources.
- Confirm all required documentation and computer entries are completed accurately and timely.
- Provide continuous instruction to employees in the technical department on proper techniques and procedures. Perform follow‑up checks during the shift and provide management with performance feedback.
- Handle day‑to‑day supervisory responsibilities for personnel related to training, work performance evaluation and disciplinary actions per company policy.
- Partner and collaborate with other leaders to maintain a balanced workflow and efficiently utilize available resources.
- Ensure product quality and that all manufacturing activities follow or exceed quality procedures and standards, recognizing defects or errors in all production work centers.
- Identify, document and implement procedures to reduce costs, eliminate waste and improve overall efficiency.
- Attend and participate in daily operating reviews to discuss performance and address challenges.
- Elevate daily challenges when support is needed to a leader/manager or other support function.
- Communicate with on‑shift counterparts about production changes to keep the plant running in tune with the priority list.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

- Effective written, oral, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Position Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with a combination of experience and education.
- Four (4) year college degree preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous frontline leadership, supervisory experience in an industrial setting (e.g., Coordinator, Supervisor, Lead).
The Virginia base pay range for this position is from $65,100 to $89,550. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.
