A leading contract manufacturing company in the greater Winchester, VA area is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for a large-scale production facility. This role offers the opportunity to oversee a complex operation, drive performance across multiple functional areas, and build a culture centered on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a proven manufacturing leader with experience managing large teams, improving plant performance, and delivering results in a fast-paced production environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Direct overall facility operations, including manufacturing, packaging, engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain activities.
- Establish operational priorities and drive the execution of production plans to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
- Lead, coach, and develop a large cross-functional workforce while fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and high performance.
- Champion workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal standards.
- Oversee quality systems and operational processes to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.
- Manage facility budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Partner with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support business growth and service excellence.
- Utilize data, KPIs, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and implement sustainable solutions.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives through Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Provide leadership updates and business insights to executive leadership regarding plant performance and strategic initiatives.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including responsibility for facility-wide operations.
- Experience leading large (300+) employee populations in a manufacturing environment is required
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing best practices, quality systems, food or consumer products regulations, and operational compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated success driving productivity, cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and culture transformation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-development skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to make data-driven operational decisions.
- Experience using ERP systems and manufacturing technologies.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement certifications are a plus.
