Primary Purpose Of Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading assigned shift production activities within the Winchester manufacturing facility. This role supports a safe, efficient, and quality-focused operation by coordinating daily labor, equipment, materials, training, production flow, and communication across the shift. The Production Supervisor reinforces company policies and standard work, addresses production issues in real time, and partners with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, Human Resources, and other support teams to meet safety, quality, production, and delivery expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead assigned production employees to meet daily safety, quality, output, labor, and delivery expectations.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), housekeeping standards, 6S expectations, and compliance with company and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Communicate shift priorities, production goals, staffing needs, equipment status, quality concerns, and operational issues to employees and leadership.
  • Monitor production flow and make timely adjustments to labor allocation, priorities, coverage, and escalation needs.
  • Ensure employees follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures, quality standards, and documented work instructions.
  • Verify accurate production reporting, including labor hours, downtime, scrap, material usage, quality holds, and shift output as applicable.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Materials, EHS, and Human Resources to resolve production issues and support business needs.
  • Coach employees on performance, attendance, conduct, safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork expectations; document concerns and partner with HR as needed.
  • Support employee training, cross-training, onboarding, job qualification, and skills development within the assigned department or shift.
  • Participate in investigations, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, productivity, and employee relations.
  • Support schedule adherence, overtime planning, staffing coverage, and shift-to-shift communications.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, plant rules, audit requirements, and applicable laws or regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, operations, manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, distribution, production, or operations environment required.
  • Prior leadership, team lead, supervisory, or people-leader experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality, production flow, labor planning, and manufacturing performance expectations.
  • Ability to coach employees, address performance concerns, communicate expectations, and partner with HR on employee relations matters.
  • Ability to prioritize work, solve problems, make sound decisions, and elevate issues appropriately in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including shift communication and documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and support a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to learn production, timekeeping, training, and reporting systems used by the site.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, 6S, root cause analysis, and problem‑solving tools, preferred.
