Summary Description

This position applies electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, electrical and mechanical testing procedures, engineering mathematics and related layout, build, test, troubleshoot and repair skills to maximize the run time of production equipment in the manufacturing facility.

Essential Duties

  • Performs all work in a safe manner.
  • Detects hazards, problems, and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical, electronic and mechanical components to maximize run time of production equipment.
  • Discusses improvement ideas with the engineering, maintenance team, and outside vendors on project work.
  • Ownership and tracking of electrical based projects based on priority within the organization.
  • Diagnose and service drives and program drives (both AC and DC).
  • Supports as primary electronic and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) technician for production.
  • Understands PLC programs and all associated equipment; uses ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with a laptop.
  • Performs work with appropriate electrical and mechanical tools as needed.
  • Uses manufacturing experience to improve electrical systems plant wide.
  • Repairs motor control, solid state and heating circuits as needed.
  • Performs mechanical and electrical project work as needed.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains fire systems, lighting, utilities, HVAC, and related equipment as needed.
  • Operates forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely.
  • Accepts direction from Production leadership for immediate production needs.


Shift: 8am - 4:30pm M-F

Hourly Range: $35.00-$38.00/hr

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Must have at least 10 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance with significant electrical experience; electrical qualification or industrial electronics education or certification strongly desired.

Must Have

  • Experience with business computer applications (Microsoft Office). SAP or similar software experience preferred.
  • Must have an active electrical journeyman's license
  • Knowledge of production and safety policies and procedures, including lock-out/tag-out.
  • Strong background using electrical diagnostic equipment, power tools, shop equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts and hand tools.
  • Strong communication skills with production and senior management.
Must Be Able To

  • Demonstrate troubleshooting and problem solving ability.
  • Work in a team based environment.
  • Assists shift maintenance as needed in both electrical and mechanical roles.
  • Work shift schedule, including overtime; fill in as shift maintenance, and may be assigned to other shifts as needed. Shift schedule may include late nights and weekends, both in plant and telephone support.
