Job Overview

Department:
Orthopaedics – 206032 Worker Sub Type Regular Work Shift Pay Grade. The Nursing Supervisor provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental standards, procedures and goals; actively participates in the hospital PI process.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care and set nursing standards for patient care.
• Assess professional growth of employees and identify needs to develop educational provisions using internal and external resources.
• Hire, counsel and evaluate the performance of associates and interview and select new employees.
• Maintain responsibility for 12 clinical hours per week as part of the department’s core staffing plan.
• Assist the Nursing Director with the preparation and monitoring of the departmental budget.

• Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Two years of clinical experience in the respective department preferred.
• Virginia Registered Nurse license required.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) – AHA approved required.
• New hires must have AHA appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
• PEARS or PALS required within 120 days.
