Evergreen Health & Rehab is seeking a dedicated and organized Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as our Infection Prevention and Staff Development Coordinator. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the facility’s infection prevention and control program while coordinating staff education, onboarding, and ongoing clinical training to ensure quality resident care and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for education and resident safety.
Responsibilities:Infection Prevention
- Develop, implement, and maintain the facility infection prevention and control program
- Monitor and track infection surveillance data and trends
- Ensure compliance with CDC, OSHA, state, and federal infection control regulations
- Conduct infection control audits and implement corrective action plans as needed
- Educate staff on infection prevention practices and outbreak management
- Collaborate with department leaders and medical providers to promote resident safety
Staff Development
- Coordinate orientation and onboarding for new nursing staff
- Plan and conduct ongoing staff education and mandatory in-services
- Maintain education records and competency evaluations
- Support nursing staff development and clinical performance improvement initiatives
- Assist with survey preparedness and regulatory compliance training
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing team members
- Current RN license in the state of Virginia
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in long-term care and skilled nursing required
- Experience in infection prevention, staff education, or nursing leadership preferred
- Working knowledge and experience with the EMAR system named Point Click Care (PCC), required
- Knowledge of CMS regulations and infection control standards
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- CPR certification required
