The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) reports to a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse and is responsible for performing routine personal care duties for patients. The CNA maintains a safe environment, reports any problems, and supports the mission and vision of Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center. With experience, may serve as a preceptor during orientation of new CNAs.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Registered on the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide (Virginia and/or West Virginia based on location).
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; certification must be current prior to orientation.
• Basic understanding of human growth and development principles.
• Ability to interact successfully with patients, especially those with special needs based on patient age.
• Reliable means of communication with hospital (phone).
• Required to receive annual flu vaccination in Long‑Term Care clinical areas.
