The registered professional nurse is responsible for utilizing job skills to effectively carry out the nursing process: including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, evaluation, documentation and time management. They are responsible for quality communication, teamwork and leadership/professionalism. Also directs, coordinates and implements patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives, and activities of other health team personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Responsibilities- Complete yearly mandatory competencies, any unit specific competencies identified by the Director/Designee, and完成 the Professional Practice Ladder requirements.
- Assume responsibility as Charge Nurse; participate in PI activity and department initiatives; communicate and share information with Director/Designee, co‑workers from unit or hospital committees, Valley Health paid Education/Seminar/Conference workshops, or Nursing Articles. Submit a current portfolio to Director/Designee annually by March1st.
- Routinely solicit and validate patient/family satisfaction; participate in peer review for unit; develop bulletin board or poster providing educational information to staff/patients/family members.
- Registered Nurse II (RNII) designation;
Education Associates Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN or ADN) required;
Bachelors Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Minimum 1872 full‑time or part‑time nursing hours (936 if holding BSN) of RN experience and completion of a performance evaluation.
- RN license required; licensed or eligible in Virginia or West Virginia under applicable regulations, including NLC or single‑state license.
- BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) by American Heart Association approved required; additional specialty certification preferred.
- Competent to provide care based on the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development and use of the nursing process.
