Job Description
This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality system, data analysis, customer interface, quality practices, and continuous improvement activities. The Quality Supervisor will report to the site Quality Manager and work closely with functional area leaders, quality staff, corporate support teams, and production team members. This position serves as the Backup SQF and ISO Practitioner, leads quality systems initiatives for the department, and focuses largely on documentation management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Interview, train, place, assign, and direct work for Quality Team employees, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems.
- Ensure company and customer quality and food‑packaging safety requirements are met.
- Participate in the review of manufacturing and testing of new products to ensure quality requirements are fulfilled.
- Design and implement process capability studies as required to qualify products.
- Provide guidance in implementing testing procedures to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Track root causes of quality issues, coordinate corrective actions, and implement appropriate adjustments using established systems.
- Facilitate performance metrics systems and present them to management groups.
- Interface with customers, vendors, third‑party assessors, and applicable regulatory agencies.
- Ensure proper usage and calibration of measuring devices (e.g., calipers, gages, etc.).
- Direct employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure control over materials and products, including responsibility for data collection systems.
- Maintain sanitation and good manufacturing practice compliance.
- Facilitate continual product safety in accordance with SQF standards, administering compliance status to food safety requirements.
- Support and provide guidance for systems defined by ISO 9001, including documented procedures, audits, and programs.
- Facilitate teamwork focused on quality and operational improvement as well as customer satisfaction.
