ISN is seeking a Research Analyst Assistant Team Lead, who will be assigned to a client site in Winchester, VA or Clarksburg, WV. As a Research Analyst Assistant Team Lead, you will assist a federal agency in conducting investigative case information and preparing reports based on information gleaned using critical and analytical skills. Your work will support decisions regarding applicant worthiness for employment, access to federal facilities, and immigration benefits, ultimately contributing to national security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Team Lead in managing and coordinating team activities to ensure efficient workflow and task allocation.
  • Review non-reportable information requests submitted by team members, ensuring quality standards before submission to the Team Lead for final review.
  • Respond to inquiries and questions from team members, providing guidance and clarification to resolve issues quickly, freeing up the Team Lead for higher‑level tasks.
  • Support the mentoring and development of team members by addressing routine queries and reinforcing best practices and analytical methodologies.
  • Collaborate with the Team Lead to assess workload distribution and assist in balancing tasks across the team to meet deadlines and organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies, particularly regarding data protection and security protocols.
  • Assist the Team Lead in performing routine vetting requests, as required by the position of a Research Analyst, when capacity permits.
  • Leverage experience with derogatory information assessments, background checks, and vetting processes to manage complex, high-volume workloads while maintaining high standards of performance and adherence to timelines.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills, guiding, coaching, and developing junior Research Analysts.
  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail, identifying discrepancies or errors in research findings and report packages.
  • Provide constructive feedback for team members.
  • Communicate complex information clearly to both team members and management.
  • Apply problem‑solving skills to address and resolve issues in research findings, processes, or team performance.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive or classified information in accordance with security regulations and policies.
  • Be responsible for all project activities, both administrative and programmatic.
  • Work independently under direction or in a team to collect, analyze, and present data from structured research and evaluation activities.
  • Offer technical guidance in completing contract deliverables.
  • Monitor metric and quality performance of Research Analysts for contract deliverables.
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Contribute to monthly status reports for the COR and/or CO under the guidance of the PM and/or DPM.
  • Understand and perform responsibilities typical of a Research Analyst.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or three (3) or more years of experience with knowledge of administrative principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Chrome.
  • Experience reviewing and validating the work of junior Research Analysts, ensuring quality and accuracy of reports, findings, and conclusions.
  • Active Top‑Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
