Winchester, Virginia | Full-Time | On-Site | Reporting to Quality / Lab Leadership
Help build and operate our microbiology capability from the ground up. Hubot, Inc. is seeking a Junior Microbiologist to support our Winchester, VA lab operations. This role will help set up the microbiology lab and perform conventional microbiology testing across all products, including ongoing stability work turning daily lab execution into clear, reliable, inspection-ready results.

Your testing supports product release, stability programs, and audit readiness
- Set up the microbiology lab in Winchester, including foundational workflows, lab readiness, and organization
- Conduct conventional microbiology testing on all products (routine microbiology)
- Perform ongoing stability microbiology testing per schedule and program requirements
- Prepare media and supplies to support daily testing (agar plates, broths, reagents)
- Execute environmental monitoring activities as required and maintain clean lab practices
- Record data clearly and accurately; support result review, trending, and basic interpretation
- Support troubleshooting and follow-up testing for atypical results under guidance
- Degree in Microbiology (or closely related life science field)
- Comfortable working hands‑on in a laboratory environment with strong attention to detail
- Committed to clean, compliant, repeatable execution and strong documentation habits
- 3-5 years of experience
- Media preparation (agar, broths)
- Culture handling and isolation
- Gram staining and basic staining methods
- Microscopy (light; phase contrast exposure preferred)
- Serial dilutions and plating
- Colony counting / CFU analysis
- Basic biochemical tests
- Microbial identification
- Basic PCR knowledge (entry-level exposure acceptable)
- Data recording and result interpretation
- On-time completion of routine and stability microbiology testing
- Accurate CFU counts and clean, repeatable technique (minimal rework)
- Complete, clear documentation that supports traceability and review
- Lab set-up milestones achieved with organized workflows and reliable readiness
