• Operate the Pet Care Center to ensure merchandising and inventory strategies are executed, and provide a great experience for guests and their pets.
• Work the store floor: stock shelves, clean the Pet Care Center, operate the cash register, and support guest interactions with a passion for animal welfare.
• Maintain maintenance and inventory across the entire Pet Care Center; ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed for a strong presentation.
• Complete and apply training programs to maintain a high level of expertise for the role.
• Adhere to established operational guidelines, policies, and procedures; complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to the Leader on Duty as needed.

• Minimum high school diploma (or GED) or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in mathematics and above-average communication skills; professional appearance and genuine interest in animals and their care.
• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills for interactions with the public, partners, and leaders in the store.

In addition to a high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrate proficiency in mathematics and basic accounting relationships and exhibit exceptional communication skills.

The majority of job duties are indoors. Some tasks require leaving the store briefly for merchandise receiving, carry-outs, or stock balancing. This position requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise up to 50 pounds, and standing for long periods. A flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is required to meet store needs.
