Thrift Associate

The Winchester Area SPCA (WASPCA) is a no-kill animal welfare organization committed to saving animal lives, addressing overpopulation, and fostering the human-animal bond. Through dedicated sheltering, adoption services, and community outreach, WASPCA serves thousands of animals each year. Located in Winchester, Virginia, the organization plays a vital role in providing care and hope for animals across the City of Winchester and the Commonwealth.

This is a part-time, on-site role located in Winchester, VA, for a Thrift Associate at the Winchester Area SPCA. The Thrift Associate will assist with day-to-day operations of the thrift store, including sorting and organizing donations, pricing items, assisting customers, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, and helping with inventory management. The position will support the organization’s mission by raising funds for animal welfare programs.

• Previous retail experience, including working with customers and handling sales transactions, is preferred.
• Organizational and time management skills for managing donations, inventory, and a clean work environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills to assist and interact positively with store visitors and donors.
• Ability to work in a team setting and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
• Commitment to the mission of the Winchester Area SPCA and a passion for animal welfare is highly valued.
• Physical ability to lift and move items of various sizes when processing donations or arranging store displays.
