In this role, you'll help maintain a clean and safe environment for Frederick County residents, ensuring that waste is properly disposed of at the landfill and citizens’ convenience center. This is a part‑time position at our Stephenson location, offering the opportunity to work both indoors and outdoors while interacting with the public in a professional and helpful manner.

• Operates trash compactor in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Direct traffic flow at the convenience site and assist waste haulers to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Monitors refuse and recycling collection areas and enforces County regulations regarding proper waste disposal.
• Identifies, discourages, and reports illegal dumping and unauthorized use by out‑of‑County residents.
• Maintains cleanliness and general upkeep of the convenience site and grounds, including litter control and raking as required.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance of equipment and reports repair needs.
• Communicates with the public cooperatively and professionally, providing courteous customer service, including answering questions and providing assistance.
• Assists customers with off‑loading waste materials.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

• Ability to follow specific instructions and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts.
