Work Schedule:
  • Day Shift: 12-hour on a 2-2-3 rotation
  • Night Shift: 12-hour on a 2-2-3 rotation
As a Correctional Officer, you will:
  • Supervise and Monitor:Oversee the conduct of pre- and post-trial incarcerated persons, ensure compliance with facility rules, and maintain security.
  • Safety and Security:Inspect living areas, personal belongings, and security devices. Respond swiftly to security breaches and emergencies.
  • Documentation and Reporting:Prepare detailed reports on observations, incidents, and misconduct. Participate in disciplinary hearings and protect crime scenes.
  • Physical Duties:Be prepared for physical activity and administering first aid and CPR when necessary.
  • Escort and Transport:Safely escort inmates to various locations, including court and medical appointments.
  • Rehabilitation Support:Provide support and coaching resources to help inmates rehabilitate, make positive changes, and prepare for successful reintegration into society.
  • No prior correctional or law enforcement experience required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass the NRADC physical agility exam and other pre-employment screenings.
