SummaryCurrently seeking a Commercial HVAC Controls Technician to join our growing team in the Winchester, Virginia market. This is an opportunity to work with a well-respected organization that delivers HVAC service, controls integration, mechanical construction, and design‑build solutions across commercial and industrial facilities. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, troubleshooting complex systems, and helping customers improve building performance through smart automation technology.
Key Responsibilities- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC building automation and controls systems
- Program and service DDC/BAS platforms including Honeywell WEBS, Tridium Niagara, BACnet, LON, and JCI Facility Explorer systems
- Diagnose control system issues, communication failures, and equipment performance problems
- Interpret blueprints, submittals, wiring diagrams, and HVAC control sequences
- Support startup, commissioning, system testing, and performance optimization activities
- Work with mechanical equipment including chillers, boilers, VAV systems, split systems, pumps, and water source heat pumps
- Modify graphics, control logic, alarms, schedules, trends, and system configurations as needed
- Coordinate with project teams, engineers, contractors, and customers to ensure systems operate properly
- Perform inspections and verify systems are installed according to plans and specifications
- Order parts and materials necessary for service and repair work
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 4+ years of experience in HVAC service, controls, or building automation
- 2+ years of direct BAS/DDC controls experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible hours when project demands require it
