Senior Level Diesel Technician – Winchester, VA

Ryder is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician in Winchester, VA, offering weekly pay, a stable company, and comprehensive benefits.

• Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, second shift 2:30 pm – 11:30 pm; weekends off
• Hours:
  
  2 shift (2:30 pm – 11:30 pm)

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and complex mechanical and electronic repairs.
• Complete detailed inspections & repairs with minimal supervision and replace defective components as instructed.
• Conduct facility maintenance duties.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints and assign tasks appropriately.
• Utilize the Shop Management System and electronic documentation systems.
• Work in compliance with federal, provincial, and corporate guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).
• Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
• Access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
• Provide support duties as required, including Service Island support.
• Complete SBTIII training within 180 days; complete 2 OEM online diagnostic scan‑tool courses within 365 days.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred).
• At least 3 years of relevant mechanical repair experience (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment.
• Basic tools required.
• Knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A (preferred).
• All other certifications required by location are required.
• Additional requirements:
  
  must obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire; pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years).
  Some positions may require additional screening such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle record checks, road tests, or customer‑specific background requirements.
