Metromont, LLC has been a leader in the construction industry for nearly a century and is currently accepting resumes for Carpenter Assistant to be part of our dynamic team. This position will be located at our Winchester, VA location.
Position DescriptionThe overall responsibilities of a Carpenter Assistant include:
- Assist in assembling and/or installing side rails, forms, bulk heads, and block outs for casting beds.
- Finish formwork and casting beds.
- Deliver repair and maintain formwork.
- Assist fiberglass laminator, mold builder, and CNC operator when necessary.
- Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
- Housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.

- Able to read a tape measure to 1/16.
- Able to obtain forklift certification.
- Able to recognize and understand drawn structured shapes.
- Able to work on a team.
- Able to work with standard carpentry tools and powered equipment.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes.
- Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Previous carpentry experience preferred
- Experience with bench saws, table saws, miter saws, nail and staple guns, drill presses, sharps, drills, power tools, planners and routers preferred.
