Position Summary
Ryder is hiring a Master Level Diesel Technician in Winchester, VA. The role offers weekly pay, a stable company, and comprehensive benefits.
Benefits- Hourly Pay: $25.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday; weekends off - Hours:
Second Shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm - Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days
- 80 hours PTO in first year, starting Day 1

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred)
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
- Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections, and repairs
- Conduct preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable
- Identify root causes of basic failures and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once assigned tasks
- Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
