Position Summary

Ryder is hiring a Master Level Diesel Technician in Winchester, VA. The role offers weekly pay, a stable company, and comprehensive benefits.

Benefits

  • Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification, up to $700

    Monday–Friday; weekends off

    Second Shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
  • Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred)
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A (preferred)
  • Ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check
Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections, and repairs
  • Conduct preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable
  • Identify root causes of basic failures and perform repairs as required
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once assigned tasks
  • Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
  • Perform other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
