We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Plumbing Mechanic to join our growing team in Winchester, VA. This role is ideal for a motivated leader who values craftsmanship, teamwork, and taking ownership of their work.
Pay Range: $28-$36/ per hour
The pay range for this position is included in the job description. The listed range represents the broader pay scale for the role. Individual compensation may vary based on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

As a Lead Plumbing Mechanic, you will lead jobsite plumbing operations while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will serve as a mentor to your team, helping develop skills and maintain a positive, productive work environment.
Typically, this role requires 8 to 10 years of trade experience and a Journeyman Plumber License.
What You’ll Do Leadership and Team Development- Lead, mentor, and support plumbing crews
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
- Set expectations and ensure accountability for performance and safety
- Share knowledge and help develop less experienced team members
- Plan and organize work activities to ensure project efficiency
- Coordinate manpower needs with Project Managers
- Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and used efficiently
- Maintain workflow alignment with project schedules
- Perform and oversee all aspects of plumbing installation and work
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Ensure all work meets applicable codes and trade standards
- Deliver clean, professional, and high-quality installations
- Enforce OSHA and company safety policies on all job sites
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices
- Conduct regular safety meetings and address potential hazards
- Respond appropriately to incidents and elevate concerns when needed
- Delegate tasks clearly and follow up to ensure quality results
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades
- Coordinate work with other crews on multi-trade job sites
- Support customer satisfaction through professional interactions
- Identify issues early and develop effective solutions
- Use sound judgment to make decisions in the field
- Escalate complex issues when necessary
- 8 to 10 years of plumbing experience in commercial or residential work
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience
- Solid knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and installation practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project documents
- Dependable, organized, and safety-focused
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including drug screen and background checks
Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on leadership role in a construction environment and may include:
- Frequent standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Driving between job sites, sometimes for extended periods
- Exposure to construction materials, tools, and jobsite conditions
