Key Responsibilities- Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on air handlers, rooftop units, split systems, exhaust systems, chillers, boilers, and related equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues to restore equipment quickly and safely
- Install, replace, and test HVAC components including motors, belts, compressors, valves, filters, thermostats, and sensors
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical drawings
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and energy efficiency
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies
- Support facility maintenance needs as required and coordinate with production, operations, or contractors when needed
- Help maintain compliance with applicable mechanical, electrical, environmental, and safety standards
- Valid HVAC license required
- EPA certification required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical school training or apprenticeship in HVAC, refrigeration, or related field preferred
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial or industrial HVAC systems preferred
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, controls, and refrigeration principles
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, gauges, meters, and standard hand tools
- Ability to read technical documents and follow maintenance procedures
- Basic computer skills for maintenance systems or work order tracking
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience in manufacturing, plant maintenance, food production, or commercial facilities
- Experience working with preventive maintenance programs
- Familiarity with building automation or control systems
- Experience working with outside contractors and vendors
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials within required job limits
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces for extended periods
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and plant or outdoor conditions
- Ability to respond to urgent maintenance issues, including possible off-shift, weekend, or on-call support
Physical Considerations:
1. Requires frequent walking and extended periods of standing
2. Ability to lift up to 65 lbs. 3. Ability to climb
4. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (steel-toed shoes, hair and beard nets, bump caps, gloves, eye protection, etc.) 5. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment
