Schedule: Monday‑Friday 1:30pm – 9:30pm (Occasional Saturday as needed)
Compensation: $22.25 per hour plus $1.50 shift differential for 1:30pm – 9:30pm schedule
Position SummaryThe Forklift Operator is responsible for operating power industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The operator is accountable for safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also perform Order Filler and Checker duties. They are responsible for accurate storing, shipping and receiving of product to meet company safety, security, and productivity standards.
As part of the DSV team, associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receiving/Put‑Away:
Unload inbound shipments safely, move product to storage locations, input data accurately into WMS, efficiently stack and store product, maintain an organized work area. - Order Picking:
Pull and prepare for shipment, ensuring correct quantity and type of product, perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards, prepare freight accurately and timely. - Quality:
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage, report quality variances. - Delivery:
Efficiently move product from staging/storage to production lines or docks, document freight appropriately. - Inventory:
Keep appropriate records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security, assist in physical inventories, ensure proper stock rotation. - Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance:
Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area, assist in warehouse security, comply with SOPs and policies. - Equipment:
Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product using forklift, clamp truck, drum attachment, or other power equipment; perform minor maintenance, inspect equipment daily, operate safely and efficiently, maintain active forklift certification. - Maintenance:
Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned. - Other Duties (Site Specific):
Change fuel tanks on forklifts as needed, participate in physical inventories, perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, repacking, repair pallets, trailers, truck bays as requested, help maintain facility, perform other duties as required, work overtime when dictated by business.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months experience in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
- Ability to operate MHE.
- Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from mild to moderate (unregulated warehouse temperatures).
- Completion of a forklift training program.
- Computer:
Basic computer skills, use of RF scanners, WMS functions. - Language:
English (reading, writing, verbal). - Mathematical:
Basic to intermediate level for verifying quantities, counting inventory, performing related duties. - Attention to detail; accomplish tasks in a timely manner; perform duties with minimal supervision; adapt to change and thrive in fast‑paced work environment.
- 1‑2 years experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
- 1‑2 years forklift experience.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
Occasionally handle/finger items and sit; frequently bend; constantly walk and stand; lift/carry/push/pull 21‑50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
Work EnvironmentLow to moderate noise level; rarely exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
