Job Description
Under the direction of the Operations Manager and/or Warehouse Lead, the Driver safely transports supplies, linen, instruments, documents, furniture, equipment, and other materials between Valley Health locations. The Driver is Responsible for the proper loading, securing, and unloading of all assigned cargo, and operates vehicles carrying loads of up to 15,000 lbs. while adhering to established schedules and safety standards.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
3-5 years of driving experience is preferred. Box truck driving experience is preferred.
Certification & Licensure:
Must satisfy the requirements for and maintain a valid driver's license, a DOT medical examiner's certificate, as well as submit to periodic drug screenings as defined by applicable federal, state, and VH policies and regulations.
Qualifications:
Ability to operate a 24' to 28' box truck with a 6-speed manual transmission required. Ability to operate a lift gate, and be able to load carts and pallets, weighing up to 15,000 lbs., on and off the lift gate required. Ability to work with minimal supervision required. Successful completion of Valley Health System written/practical test to assess machine operation competency is required.
