A BESS Project Manager at Irby Construction Company is responsible for assisting with overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting and controls, and providing technical direction to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. The responsibilities span all areas of project management, including contract administration and cost, time, quality, and safety management, ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget.
Work locations will be from Austin and surrounding regions and in Georgia.
- Assist with overseeing the construction project from start to finish.
- Play a key role in project planning, managing project budgets, and identifying resources needed.
- Participate in all meetings, including pre-construction, weekly customer, close-out, and lessons learned meetings.
- Ensure construction activities move according to schedule by working directly with the PM/Superintendent/General Foreman to establish baseline schedules.
- Develop daily work plans, make revisions as needed, and assemble change requests.
- Track project costs, billings, and schedules.
- Evaluate cost versus profit.
- Facilitate all safety and compliance requirements, schedule necessary training before project start, oversee reporting and corrective action for safety incidents, and ensure strict adherence to proper procedures.
- Maintain proper administration for employee time tracking and review for accuracy before submission.
- Maintain processes for tool allocation, inventory, and repairs.
- Closely monitor and track all equipment usage, including rental, owned, and truck use.
- Communicate effectively with the Superintendents responsible for completing various phases of the project.
- Electrical background preferred.
- Primavera P6 experience preferred.
- Microsoft Excel experience.
- Reliable, customer-oriented, and willing to be a part of a construction team.
- Ability to effectively solve problems and conflicts.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and provide leadership in the execution of complex construction projects and organize a team effort.
- Ability to delegate and manage multiple operations effectively.
- Ability to assess the operational effectiveness of contractors.
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical materials accurately and effectively.
