Location: Winder, GA 30680
Salary Range: $60,000–$70,000 annually
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Hybrid: Eligible after 6-month review
OverviewAn exciting opportunity is available for a Mechanical Engineer to join a specialized engineering team focused on the design and development of custom overhead crane systems. This role supports high-profile, research-driven projects requiring hands‑on engineering, customized design solutions, and close collaboration with project management.
This is an ideal position for a recent graduate or early‑career engineer (0–2 years of experience) with a strong foundation in physics and statics who is eager to apply academic knowledge to real‑world industrial systems. You will work alongside senior engineers with decades of experience, gaining exposure to structural design, crane systems, industrial controls, and advanced engineering analysis.

Key Responsibilities- Assist in the engineering and design of overhead crane and hoist systems
- Support project managers in delivering customized crane solutions
- Perform structural and mechanical calculations with emphasis on statics and load analysis
- Contribute to hands‑on research and development for specialty projects
- Develop 2D and 3D models to support design documentation
- Assist with finite element analysis and engineering evaluations
- Apply ASME and ANSI standards in system design and documentation
- Support CAD development and CAD administration efforts
- Participate in engineering reviews and problem‑solving discussions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 0–2 years of experience (internships or co‑ops acceptable)
- Strong academic foundation in Physics and Statics
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and under direction of senior engineers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Ability to pass 10‑panel drug screen
- Experience in action‑oriented Research and Development
- Academic or commercial experience in computer programming
- Academic or commercial experience in 2D and 3D modeling
- Exposure to structural or industrial mechanical systems
- Interest in crane systems, fall protection systems, or custom structural design
- Familiarity with finite element analysis tools
