Role

Title:

Estimator IIMission:
To provide accurate and timely estimates to customers. Provide analysis of plans for potential value engineering opportunities. Analyze plans for potential liability as they relate to SeC products.

Roles / Objectives:

Ability to review civil construction plans and identify SeC products, as well as competitor products we could provide alternates for (Storm Water Drainpipe, HDPE Fittings, Drain Basins, Inline Drains, End Treatments, Water Quality Units, Pond Kits, Skimmers, Trash Racks, Rounds, Underground Detention Systems).Produce accurate material takeoffs from civil construction plans to include validating design and proposed quantities, measurements, etc.

Recognize and/or identify issues or liabilities and address them quickly (Wrong Gauge, Specifications, Height of Cover/fill, etc.).Ability to identify opportunities for value-engineered solutions, analyze plans, and prepare value-engineered estimates for teams to pursue (Competitor WQ units, RCP FLIPs, Identify Pipe Under Road, and/or Velocity of pipe In Henry CO., chamber systems, concrete vaults).Collaborate with the Estimating Department on JOB prioritization and support of on-time delivery of Estimates.

Keep informed of industry changes and continually work to improve team knowledge.

Review key documents, such as plans, blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications, and organize the JOB folder for easy retrieval of files for ESTIMATE / TAKEOFF

Competencies:

Numeric ability and reasoning

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (high proficiency on Excel), Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.Ability to communicate easily with Estimating & Engineering Departments.

Accuracy with data and numbers.

Very detail-oriented and diligent.

Possess a basic understanding of business functions and processes.

Strong ability to learn, self-starter, and driven to perform at a high level.

Helpful and willing to go above and beyond.

Knowledge and/or field experience associated with storm water pipe, utilities, construction, and/or quality control background.

Punctual, reliable, and good time management.

Ability to read and comprehend Civil Construction plans, blueprints, or drawings.

Strong ability to compile, analyze, and interpret data.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Capable of interpreting plans and can identify discrepancies and/or other issues and communicate them clearly before making assumptions about the plan /design.

Advanced Estimator II

Experience:

Ability to maintain high quality of work, including accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity when producing estimates/takeoffs.

Ability to assemble Estimates and produce technical notes / qualifying statements when necessary.

Knowledge of all SeC products.

Knowledge of estimating software, Excel, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
