Hill’s Ace Hardware & Lumber is seeking a relationship-driven sales leader to help shape the future growth of its contractor and building materials business.
This newly created leadership role was designed to bring dedicated focus to contractor sales growth, market development, and strategic expansion into emerging customer segments including multi-family, production builder, and light commercial business.
Reporting directly to company leadership, this individual will play a key role in guiding sales strategy, mentoring an existing outside sales team, strengthening customer relationships, and helping modernize sales processes and market approach over time.
This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial, family-owned environment where relationships, professionalism, and long-term thinking still matter. What You’ll Be Responsible ForBusiness Growth & Market Development
- Growing contractor, builder, multi-family, and light commercial business
- Identifying untapped market opportunities and driving strategic expansion
- Developing new customer relationships across key market segments
- Supporting long-term sales growth initiatives and market positioning
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting an existing outside sales team
- Helping elevate sales performance through coaching and accountability
- Building alignment between sales efforts and overall business objectives
- Contributing to a collaborative, relationship-focused culture
- Partnering with ownership and leadership on pricing strategy, margins, and profitable growth
- Helping improve sales processes, customer engagement, and business development efforts
- Supporting the organization’s continued evolution in technology utilization and strategic selling
- Assisting in the modernization of sales systems, CRM usage, and reporting processes
- Lumber & Building Materials industry experience
- Strong contractor sales and business development background
- Experience working with builders, contractors, multi-family, or light commercial accounts
- Understanding of pricing strategy, margins, and profitable growth
- Leadership experience coaching and developing sales teams
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- High level of professionalism and emotional maturity
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence and build trust
- Comfort utilizing technology, spreadsheets, CRM tools, and modern sales approaches
- Ability to think strategically while also driving day-to-day execution
- Interest in helping evolve processes and improve organizational effectiveness
- Direct visibility and interaction with ownership
