The Child and Family Development Resource Center at Eastern Connecticut State University is the University's lab school and a model early childhood program for the state of Connecticut. We are seeking part-time teachers with a set schedule of 19 hours per week. Support the mission of the Child and Family Development Resource Center by providing best teaching practices to meet the needs of children and families.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Director of the Child and Family Development Resource Center, the University Assistant will:
* Assist in teaching young children, addressing individual needs in all areas of development, and arranging classroom and outdoor environments to meet developmental needs.
* Collaborate with the classroom teaching team to plan and implement curriculum based on goals from the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood.
* Demonstrate the ability to lead classroom activities (e.g., group time, story time).
* Assist the classroom team in ensuring compliance with licensing regulations.
* Maintain and improve professional competence by participating in monthly center-wide team meetings and professional development.
* Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
* Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
* Completion of 12 credits in Early Childhood Education
* One to two years of successful experience working with young children ages 0-5
Other Desirable Qualifications/Skills
* Experience working in a laboratory school setting
* Experience working with diverse populations
* Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English)
