Part-time Faculty in Animal Diversity

The Biology Department seeks a qualified part-time instructor to teach sections of BIO 305 - Animal World, a non-majors course for undergraduate students.

BIO 305 - Animal World explores the animal kingdom, ranging from microorganisms to mammals. It offers a comprehensive investigation into the biology of each significant animal group, alongside an examination of human interactions with animals, including diseases, animal consumption, domestication, and toxic animal species. Students will enhance their quantitative literacy and critical thinking through data analysis and effective communication of information using graphs, equations, and tables.

These proficiencies will be honed through a variety of assignments and collaborative projects concentrating on distinct animal groups. Throughout the course, students will adopt the scientific method, thinking like hypothesis-driven scientists via observation, inquiry, and experimentation. Three hours per week.

A Master's degree in a related field is required. Applicants must demonstrate a record of successful university teaching. Additional qualifications include professional development activities that maintain currency in the teaching field, such as continuing education, workshops, consulting, and/or attendance at professional conferences.
