Part-time Faculty in Mass Communication Media Literacy

The Department of Communication, Film, and Theatre is seeking a part-time Adjunct Faculty member who will have the primary responsibility of teaching two sections of Mass Communication -- Media Literacy in Fall 2026. All courses are taught in person at Eastern's Willimantic campus.

Mass Communication Media Literacy This course will provide a history and road map of the first century of mass communication before the Internet and explore how it is functioning today. You will gain knowledge and acquire tools for thinking critically about the process of media creation and the influence of media on individuals and society, including our economic, political, and cultural systems and institutions.

The course will serve media majors and non-majors equally well, mixing history with theory, practice and applications.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and will support the department's mission of combining theory and practice in a program emphasizing a liberal arts perspective.

Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Communication or closely related field

* Bachelor's degree in Communication or closely related field

* Prior teaching experience is required
