The R&D Laboratory Engineer will own product testing in support of product development including equipment maintenance and calibration.
Responsibilities:
Design, execute, and analyze laboratory tests and experiments to support product development, qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports that document testing activities, analysis methods, results, conclusions, and recommendations.
Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records in accordance with quality system requirements.
Communicate certification testing results and technical information to external agencies, including UL, CSA, and DLA.Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the ISO 17025 quality management system.
Lead and participate in Design of Experiments (DOE) and structured problem-solving activities.
Provide technical guidance to project teams regarding appropriate test methods and validation strategies.
Develop, validate, and document new test methods, procedures, templates, and laboratory best practices.
Work independently while providing direction and support to laboratory technicians to ensure project objectives are met.
Actively contribute to laboratory safety programs, housekeeping initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science or a related technical discipline.
Experience working within ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 quality systems.
2+ years of hands-on in lab equipment calibration, testing schedules, and procedures in an industrial or R&D lab.
Experience in wire & cable or fiber optic industry strongly preferred.
