PositionSummary
Under supervision of the Supervisor of EKG/EEG, perform non-invasive diagnostic testing including 12 lead EKG's, 24-hour Holter monitors, 30-day monitors and routine pacemaker follow-up evaluations, both in an in-patient and out-patient setting. Ranging from neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. In addition to clinical role, provide clerical support for EKG and cardiology, including but not limited to answering phone, coordinating procedures, processing reports, chart preparation and charge entry.
EXPERIENCE- Six to twelve month on the job training in order to become fully proficient in all phases of assigned duties.
- High school education or equivalent.
- CNA or relevant direct patient care experience and basic computer skills required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and CPR certification desirable.
- Performs department receptionist/scheduler duties.
- Prepares patients for cardiac stress testing and assists in other stress test duties as needed.
- Applies holter, event and ambulatory blood pressure monitors; educates patient on proper use and removal of equipment.
- Performs EKGs and assists in the management of the Muse EKG system
- Provides clerical support for Cardiac Rehab.
- Maintains department inventories.
- Provides department transport support as needed.
