Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners with urgent care or emergency room experience in both adult and pediatric populations. This is a per‑diem position requiring a commitment of 2 shifts per month.

Job Summary

Advanced Practitioners (PA/NP) provide a wide variety of clinical services in urgent care, including the treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu‑like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. Working independently or alongside physicians, Advanced Practitioners must have excellent assessment skills to recognize serious conditions and refer patients to the emergency room as needed.

Education

Physician Assistants:
Bachelor’s Degree required.

Nurse Practitioners:
Master’s Degree required.

Work Experience
  • 2-5 years of post‑residency clinical experience.
  • Minimum 18 months in applicable practice setting.
  • Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred.
Licensing and Certification

National certification required.

Active state medical licensure required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in an urgent care or emergency room setting.
  • Proficient in office procedures such as suturing, splinting, and casting.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong listening, communication, and customer‑service skills.
Essential Functions
  • Examining and treating patients.
  • Taking patient medical histories.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X‑rays.
  • Making diagnoses and prescribing medications.
  • Treating minor injuries that may require suturing, splinting, or casting.
  • Recording progress notes for follow‑up patients.
  • Educating and counseling patients.
  • Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients.
  • Administering vaccinations and referring patients to additional care.
  • Providing care during anticipated 4-, 8-, or 12‑hour shifts as assigned.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
