Position SummaryPractice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at The Ridge, a newly established residential addiction treatment facility. Responsibilities include admission physical exams, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing medical care for inpatient withdrawal management and residential program patients. May also support Partial Hospital, Outpatient, and community settings as determined by the Medical Director.

- Perform detailed physical exam and psychosocial assessments, develop medical history.
- Order and interpret laboratory diagnostics, screening tests, and collaborate with primary care and specialists.
- Collaborate with clinical/nursing staff to develop, implement, and revise treatment plans.
- Write medication orders, progress notes, and other documentation in patient charts.
- Educate patients and groups on medication use, side effects, and treatment plan.
- Provide physical and emotional support during examinations and to families when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate medical records according to Rushford policy, ensuring confidentiality.
- Advise patients on medication usage and side effects.
- Review diagnostic results, consult with supervisory physician, incorporate findings into care plan.
- Discuss diagnosis with patient, document billing codes.
- Recommend and develop new services and programs.
- Participate in peer review, chart reviews, staff education, and quality assurance activities.

- Advanced practice nursing/PA-C knowledge including anatomy, psychosocial systems, drug/alcohol addiction, diagnostic testing.
- Professional nursing theory/PA-C principles, regulations, and ethics.
- Public relations with patients, medical staff, departments, hospitals, and external programs.
- Adherence to departmental policies, quality improvement, safety, and infection control standards.
- Continuous professional growth through education, literature, service meetings, workshops.
- Attendance at clinical disposition, supervision, and case review meetings.
- Meeting departmental quality and productivity measures.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Education – Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with certification or Physician Assistant with National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certificate and PA‑C designation. CPR certification required. Active CT DEA/CT Controlled Substance license.
