Cardiology - Nurse Practitioner; APRN or Physician Assistant

Mon-Fri, Full Time (40 hours). Some weekends and some holidays.

The Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant will provide direct care to patients in the outpatient and inpatient (hybrid) setting, covering Backus Hospital and Windham ambulatory clinic. The provider collaborates with physicians, communicates emergent diagnostic information, and prescribes, dispenses, and administers therapeutic and corrective measures.

• Provide direct patient care in outpatient and inpatient (hybrid) settings.
• Identify diagnostic information that should be considered emergent and communicate timely information to physician colleagues.
• Prescribe, dispense, and administer therapeutic and corrective measures.
• Work in collaboration with a licensed physician and in accordance with the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice.
• Maintain a passion for cardiology and adapt to rapid institute growth.

• Graduate of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred.
• Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut.
• Certification or eligible to be certified National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC.
• 3+ years of experience in a clinical area (such as cardiology) required.
• Experience in cardiology preferred.
• BLS and ACLS required.
