Overview

Join a dynamic and patient-focused dental team in the Greater Portland, Maine area as aDental Front Desk Coordinator. In this essential role, your professionalism, organizational abilities, and patient communication skills will help create an exceptional experience from the moment patients walk through the door.

We are seeking a candidate withprior dental office experience required, and treatment planning experience strongly preferred. The ideal individual is confident discussing treatment recommendations, coordinating insurance benefits, and guiding patients through financial arrangements while maintaining outstanding customer service in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients warmly and professionally while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with strong phone etiquette and professionalism
  • Schedule appointments efficiently to support optimal office flow
  • Coordinate patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage information
  • Present and discuss treatment plans with patients
  • Assist patients with financial arrangements and insurance-related questions
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR/EHR systems
  • Support billing, claims processing, and collections activities as needed
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
  • Perform general administrative and office support duties including filing, data entry, and appointment reminders
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a dental office is required
  • Treatment planning and insurance coordination experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology and dental office workflows
  • Experience with dental software platforms such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic, Meditech, or similar systems preferred
  • Familiarity with insurance verification, billing processes, and claims management
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office technology
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
